Godzilla als vernichtende macht ist sowieso die beste Variante weil Godzilla dafür von anfang an konzipiert wurde.

Die Filme in denen er aktiv der Gute ist und der freundlich Held der menschen sein soll sind für mich mit die schlechtesten.

Ich mochte von denn nur die Idee mit der Monster Insel, wo da alle zusammen lebten, mehr aber nicht wirklich.
Also mein persönlicher Lieblings Godzilla ist der aus denn 90er. Der sah extrem Böse aus und auch super Filme gehabt.
Die Millennium Reihe mochte ich auch sehr, nur der Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack hat mir nicht so gefallen, da war Godzilla extrem stark, aber da gefiell er mir optisch überhaupt nicht. Und KIng Ghidorah auch nicht und der war jetzt da auch noch nett.
Ach und natürlich Godzilla Final Wars, obwohl Godzilla am Anfang etwas kurz kam. Aber ein großartiger abschluss.

Die neunziger Filme sind auch meine Favoriten abgesehn vom ersten Godzilla der immer noch der beste von allen ist.

An Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack fand ich nur den gag geil in dem sie sich über emmerichs Godzilla lustig gemacht haben.

Ist Emmerichs Godzilla nicht einfach nur Zilla seit Final Wars?
Es erscheint ziemlich unwahrscheinlich, dass die Japaner ein englisches Akronym übernehmen.

Final Wars hat mir sehr gut gefallen, weiteren westlichen Versionen stehe ich skeptisch gegenüber.

Ich hab neulich meine Godzilla-Film-Sammlung angeschaut. Zehn der Showa-Filme fehlen mir noch. Es war aber ganz interessant zu sehen. Ich hatte einige der DVDs schon Jahre, da waren Filme dabei, die habe ich noch nie gesehen. Ich weiß nicht mehr welcher Film es war, aber einer war besoners interessant von der Technik her, ich fand da sah man besonders deutlich den Übergang von einer Trickgeneration zur nächsten, die Tricks versuchten mehr als sie zu dem Zeitpunkt leisten konnten. Der vorherige Film war okay und technisch stimmig, der nachfolgende Film war okay und technisch stimmig, aber der war irgendwie weder Fleisch noch Fisch. Und die Filme haben so doofe Namen, da kann ich mich nicht daran erinnern um was es ging.

Update on Godzilla Film Remake

Director Gareth Edwards recently talks about the status of the Hollywood adaptation of the classic tokusatsu movie, Godzilla, on a special director's panel at the Kapow! Comic Convention in London.

It's going great and I'm genuinely excited about it. We're just working really hard with Legendary, who have been fantastic.

Thomas Tull has just been an absolute pleasure and nothing like the experience they warn you about when you go to Hollywood. I can't say much other than I hope that we'll have some proper news soon. So you won't have to wait too long at all.

Max Borenstein (The Seventh Son) replaced David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight) in scriptwriting the film. Legendary Pictures producers Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni are also attached to the project.

Warner Brothers and TOHO will distribute it in their respective countries. Legendary Pictures indicated that its version will be closer to the original 1954 film rather than Sony's 1998 Godzilla remake.

Beim Panel von Legendary Pictures auf der diesjährigen San Diego Comic Con wurde neben "Man of Steel" und "Pacific Rim" auch der neue "Godzilla" vorgestellt. Neben einem Teaser (der es leider, von einem Standbild mit Godzillas Silhouette abgesehen, noch nicht online geschafft hat) wurde auch ein Teaser-Poster veröffentlicht.

Okay das Poster sieht schon cool aus, aber aus der Silhouette kann man ja nicht viel erkennen.
Hoffe auf eine gute Umsetzung, da der Zilla von Emmerich echt schlecht war.

It has been confirmed that Warner Bros and Legendary Pictures' reboot on the Godzilla movie will be released on May 16th, 2014. The film will be directed by Britsh indie director Gareth Edwards (Monsters).

Iron Man 3 Writer to Rewrite Godzilla Movie Remake Scripts

Variety reports that Warner Brothers and Legendary Pictures ask the help of Iron Man 3 scriptwriter Drew Pearce to rewrite the scripts for the upcoming reboot on the Godzilla movie, before the casting process starts.

The script was originally written by David Callaham (“The Expendables” films), David S. Goyer (the “Dark Knight” trilogy) and Max Borenstein (upcoming “The Seventh Son”). The film will be directed by Britsh indie director Gareth Edwards (Monsters).

Legendary’s Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni will produce, along with Roy Lee, Dan Lin and Brian Rogers. Alex Garcia and Patricia Whitcher will serve as executive producers alongside Doug Davison, Yoshimitsu Banno and Kenji Okuhira.

“Godzilla” Movie to Start Filming this March

Cinematographer Seamus McGarvey (The Avengers) revealed in an Indiewire interview that the upcoming 2014 reboot on the Godzilla movie will start filming next March.

"We haven't really worked out what we're doing yet. We don't start shooting until March of next year," McGarvey said. "I'm in the process of testing what our visual approach will be. [...] It's wonderful working with Gareth. He's a wonderful filmmaker and somebody who understands the camera," he added.

Godzilla (2014) Filming Details Revealed

Collider.com recently had an interview with Dan Lin, the North American producer of the upcoming Godzilla movie reboot. He revealed that the movie is currently in deep pre-production.

He also revealed that the filming for the movie is likely to begin in Vancouver, British Columbia in March 2013. In addition, he is tight-lipped about other details when he was asked if the movie will have throwbacks to previous Godzilla movies and if the movie will have Asian content.

Godzilla will be released this May 16, 2014.

Godzilla Loses Two Producers, Starts Filming this March

Two producers of the upcoming 2014 reboot on the Godzilla movie departs the project. Producers Dan Lin and Roy Lee are scheduled to leave this week on focus on their other upcoming projects.

Other projects connected to Lin and Lee are the remake of “Death Note” (live action) and Stephen King's “It”. Both in development. Lin is also working on a "Lego" film, while Lee is working on the remake of “Oldboy” and the new “Battle Royale”.

Two More Monsters to Appear in 2014 Godzilla Film
Chud reported that promotional arm of Warner Bros. just wrapped up a webinar with its advertisers. According to the source, it includes details for the upcoming 2014 Godzilla film.

The movie will feature two more monsters that will also wreak havoc in the city aside from Godzilla. Lastly, the movie "follows the story of a solider" and it is different from the Toho Godzilla films.

ich kauf mir nach und nach gerade alle godzilla filme die es auf dvd gibt. meine sammlung umfasst derzeit bereits 16 filme. ganz schon schwer manche dvds zu bekommen und vor allen dingen muss man viel geld dafür hinblättern. besonders die steel book editionen von anolis sind toll-leider gibt es da nur 3 filme.

heute abend schau ich mit nem kumpel ein paar teile.

ob eigentlich in 2014 auch der japanische toho godzilla zurückkehrt?? ich hoffe es...

besonders die steel book editionen von anolis sind toll-leider gibt es da nur 3 filme.

Abgesehen davon, dass es von Anolis noch weitere Kaiju-Classics gibt (u.a. "Frankenstein, der Schrecken mit den Affengesicht") kommt schon bald ein weiterer Godzilla von Anolis, nämlich "Die Rückkehr des King Kong", erstmals auch in der jap. Schnittfassung.

Mothra Rewrite, Godzilla Remake is Not Campy

In a roundtable discussion with the science fiction news website io9, actor Sam Witwer (Smallville, Being Human, The Mist) revealed that he is "working on a Mothra rewrite right now."

He mentioned this during io9's discussion with writer Frank Darabont (The Walking Dead), the writer of Legendary Pictures and Warner Brothers' Godzilla remake. Speaking of which, he revealed that the new Godzilla movie will not be campy.

He revealed in that same roundtable discussion that they are taking a cool new approach to Godzilla as they want him to be a terrifying force of nature. He also talked about the "very compelling human drama that I got to weave into it", which according to him is not the cliche one.

Similar to the original Godzilla being a metaphor for the atomic bomb, the new Godzilla will also symbolize something, which he didn't reveal in the discussion.

Godzilla is scheduled to open this May 16, 2014.

Bezweifle ich. 2014 ist zwar das sechzigjährige aber es kommt ja bereits ein Godzilla und soweit ich weiß arbeiten auch ein paar Toho leute enger mit Legendary zusammen um den neuen auf die Beine zu stellen. Kann mich natürlich auch irren.

Ken Watanabe Joins 2014 Godzilla Remake Cast!

Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. confirmed that Ken Watanabe (The Last Samurai) is part of the upcoming Godzilla remake.

In addition, the studio also confirmed the cast members of the movie. They are: David Strathairn (Lincoln, The Bourne Ultimatum), Juliette Binoche (The English Patient, Chocolat), actress Elizabeth Olsen (Oldboy), lead actor Aaron-Taylor Johnson (Kick-Ass) and Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad, Argo).

Johnson will play a member of the military and Olson will play his girlfriend, Cranston his step-father, and Strathairn another military member.

Godzilla is set for a May 16, 2014 release. In addition, the movie's principal photography began on Monday in Vancouver, British Columbia.

With the filming of Gareth Edward's Godzilla 2014 film reboot currently ongoing, there have been some information that they might use suitmation, or actual suit actors under the suit, in addition to computer generated effects, as per TOHO's directive.

According to Godzilla-Movies.com, there have been a rumor that TOHO, the license holders for the Godzilla franchise may potentially require that Legendary Pictures to use some suitmation, similar as to how the original Japanese Godzilla films were done.
