Video: Pokémon XY Starters Evolutions Officially Revealed

The official Pokémon YouTube Channel started streaming the latest promotional video for the latest installments of the Pokémon game franchise, Pokémon X and Pokémon Y. This confirms the Western names for the monsters unveiled in the recent issue of CoroCoro magazine.

Chespin's evolution will be called Quilladin, Fennekin is Braixen, while Froakie's evolution is Frogadier. Of course, featured in the promo are Mega Mewtwo X, Mega Mewtwo Y and Mega Garchomp. Both Pyroar and Meowstic will have a male/female appearance. Fossil Pokémon Tyrunt and Amaura can be obtained with the Jaw Fossil and Sail Fossil, respectively. And lastly, changing the appearance of your character was also previewed in the video.

Pokémon X & Pokémon Y will be available for the Nintendo 3DS, and are scheduled to be released worldwide this October 12th.

Da ich den 3D Effeckt eh sehr selten nutze, ist mit das relativ egal. Und mal ehrlich, im Kampf reicht doch völlig. Da das der wichtigste Teil des Gameplays ist.

Vorallem würde ein komplettes 3D soviel Leistung fressen, das dass Game wahrscheinlich gar net auf dem 3DS erscheinen könnte.

Pokémon X & Y: Use of 3D, About Mega Evolution Being Compared to Digivolution

More info about Pokémon X and Pokémon Y when it comes to the game's 3D effects and it's Mega Evolutions being compared to Digimon's Digivolutions has surfaced online.

First is about the stereoscopic 3D effect of this game. In a report by IGN, Pokémon director Junichi Masuda only certain cinematics ans battle sequences will feature 3D. Most of the game is in 2D. The reason for this is because there are areas that they want to focus on the game's beauty and using it sparingly will add more impact when it did show up.

Next is about the Digivolution comparison with the game's Mega Evolution gimmick, it's just pure coincidence according to Masuda. He revealed that they see Mega Evolution as the next level in the game's evolution gimmick. To keep the battle balanced and introduce a new evolution stage, they came up with the idea of the Mega Stone and have Mega Evolutions something that happens during battle.

Because of this, it adds more depth to the battle and since a Mega Stone is a hold item, players can't give their Pokémon another hold item since one Pokémon can only hold a single item.

Pokémon X & Y: Tyrunt and Amaura's Evolved Forms Revealed

More info about the two fossil Pokémon in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y is finally revealed. The two fossil Pokémon, Tyrunt and Amaura can be obtained using the Jaw Fossil and Sail Fossil respectively.

In addition, the evolved forms of these Pokémon are finally revealed. Tyrunt is a Pokémon that will throw a fit when it doesn't like something and evolves into Tyrantrum. This Rock/Dragon Pokémon has large, and powerful jaws.

Amaura has the ability called "Refrigerate", which turns Normal-type moves into Ice-type moves. This Rock/Ice Pokémon evolves into Aurorus. After it evolves, it can blast air to form a wall of ice to shield itself from attacks. It's moves include Aurora Beam and can learn a move called "Freeze-Dry", which Super Effective against Water-type Pokémon.

Both fossil Pokémon are said to be "over one hundred million years old" and can be restored at the Fossil Lab.

The story is set in the Kanto Region, the first region to be featured in the Pokémon game franchise. Pokémon XY Introduces Honedge's Evolution: Doublade

The official Pokémon fan page had revealed a new specie for the latest installments of the Pokémon game franchise, Pokémon X and Pokémon Y. It will be called Doublade, the evolution of Honedge.

More Cast Revealed for "Pokémon: The Origin" Anime
The official website for the upcoming Pocket Monsters: The Origin anime special reveals three new addition voice cast. Follow Red as he travels through the Kanto region, encounters Team Rocket, battles his rival, and challenges the Pokémon League!

Pokémon XY Gets 1.26 Million Pre-Orders, Opening Sequence Streamed

It has been reported that the latest installments of the Pokémon game franchise, Pokémon X and Pokémon Y had reached over 1.26 million pre-orders in Japan alone! It now sets a new record for most pre-orders for a Nintendo 3DS software title.

The record was previously held by Monster Hunter 4 with 1.17 million pre-orders. The Pokémon game franchise itself had already sold 172 million units of related titles worldwide, since the release of the first ever game, Pokémon Red and Green (Blue in the US) in 1996.

Additionally, the game's official YouTube channel streams its opening sequence featuring both the male and female characters.

Pokémon X & Y: Charizard's Two Mega Evolutions Revealed

It is recently revealed that Charizard will have two Mega Evolutions in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y! Using either the Charizardite X or Charizardite Y, Charizard can Mega Evolve into either Mega Charizard X or Mega Charizard Y!

When Charizard Mega Evolves into Mega Charizard X, its body turns black and its flames burn blue with increased heat. It also changes types when it Mega Evolves, changing from Fire and Flying-type to Fire and Dragon-type!

In addition, it's Attack increases significantly and its Ability changes to Tough Claws, which raises the power of moves that make direct contact. The previously announced Mega Charizard is Mega Charizard Y. This Mega Charizard's Sp. Attack increases significantly, and its Ability changes to Drought, increasing the power of Fire-type moves. Mega Charizard Y can learn the Fire-type move Blast Burn which becomes even more powerful with the effect of the Drought Ability.

A few different shops from various locations have sold copies of the latest installments of the Pokémon game franchise, Pokémon X and Pokémon Y earlier than they should be. With this, lots of players have been posting leaked images of its latest features, especially the evolutions of its starters, online.

The final starter evolutions are Greninja (Water/Dark), Delphox (Fire/Psychic), and Chesnaught (Grass/Fighting). Although some people are saying these are fakes, various sources states that they are the real deal.

Pokémon Bank Annual Service Cost Revealed

More info about the new Pokémon Bank downloadable app for the Nintendo 3DS was posted in the Pokémon X and Pokémon Y official website. This new service allows fans to store their Pokémon that they capture online.

This paid service will be free for the first month, if you download and use the app (which includes obtaining the free pass) by January 31, 2014. It will give you access to 100 storage boxes of your own, enabling you to store up to 3,000 Pokémon (30 Pokémon per box).

When you download the Pokémon Bank app, players can also download another app called Poké Transporter. This app allows players to transfer Pokémon from Pokémon Black/White and Black 2/White 2 to Pokémon Bank, by inserting the cartridges of those respective games into your 3DS.

Because of this, once the Pokémon for those games are transferred to the Bank, they can never be transferred back to their previous games. In addition, the Transporter is an app that works together with the Bank. Furthermore, Pokémon created or modified via illegal means will not work in the two apps.

The Pokémon Bank and Pokémon Transporter app service will cost $4.99 per year and is intended to support long-term management and maintenance of the service. This service will launch in the U.S. this December 27th.

Pokémon X/Y Launch's Torchic Distribution Detailed

The official website for the latest installments of the Pokémon game franchise, Pokémon X and Pokémon Y had unveiled some details on its rare Torchic distribution on the game's launch this October 12th.

The extremely rare Torchic will be at Level 10 and has the hidden ability called "Speed Boost", which gradually boosts the speed stat of that Pokémon. Torchic knows the moves Scratch, Growl, Focus Energy, and Ember. Another special thing about this Pokémon is that it comes with the Blazikenite, the Mega Stone needed for Blaziken's Mega Evolution.

New Pokémon Game Based on Pikachu is in the Works

In a recent producer's summary on NHK, it is revealed that a new Pokémon based on Pikachu is in the works!

Pokémon producer and CEO of The Pokémon Company Tsunekazu Ishihara revealed that the development of the new Pikachu game began this summer. Even though Pikachu is one popular Pokémon, they still fear if they don't do a good job, it could possibly hurt the popularity of the said Pokémon.

According to the producer, the game will be about a boy who takes on the world using "playfulness" as a weapon.

CoroCoro Officially Reveals Pokémon X/Y Starter Evolutions, More Mega

The latest issue of CoroCoro magazine, that will be shipped this October 15th, had officially revealed the final evolutions of the starters for the latest installments of the Pokémon game franchise, Pokémon X and Pokémon Y. Their appearance previously leaked after a few shops sold the game a few days before the official launch.

The final starter evolutions are Greninja (Water/Dark), Delphox (Fire/Psychic), and Chesnaught (Grass/Fighting). Additionally, more Mega Evolutions had been officially revealed. This includes Mega Tyranitar, Mega Aggron, Mega Kangaskhan, and Mega Gengar.

Mega Tyranitar retains its type and its ability of Sand Stream, and Mega Aggron turns to pure Steel-type, which has the ability of Filter. Meanwhile, Mega Gengar's ability is Shadow Tag and Mega Kangaskhan has the ability Parental Bond that allows its attacks to hit twice.

You can also check out the official artworks for the new species that will be introduced in Pokémon X/Y.


Lastly, CoroCoro has announced that they'll be giving away a special Garchomp on their next issue There will be a unique serial code to access to their special Garchomp that holds a Dragon Fang and knows Crunch, Dragon Claw, Dig and Draco Meteor. The location of its Mega Stone will also be revealed in this issue.
